In Loving Memory of Richard Martell

Richard Martell transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on April 27, 2024.

He leaves a host of devoted family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Richard Martell, born December 30, 1939 in New York City, passed away at the age of 84 on April 27, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, due to complications from a slip and fall.

Dick was preceded in death by his life partner of 60 years, Mr. Robert Henzler, and by his parents, Joseph J. Martell and Piepiura (“Polly”) Martell. Dick is survived by his brother, Robert J. Martell, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his nephew, Gregg R. Martell, of Springhill Florida; his niece, Lisa Ann Martell, of Dunedin, Florida; and his niece, Suzanne Martell, also of Dunedin, Florida. He is also survived by his dear friends, Barbara J. Hensler, Robyn Murray, Richard M. Seabrook II, Karen Dallis, and Ryan E. Willits.

Dick served in the United States Army in Germany. After military service, he graduated from the Parsons School of Design at the New School in New York City. He embarked on a career as an Art Director, first at The Wall Street Journal and then with People Magazine, at which he excelled. Dick retired in 1999 and moved to Fort Lauderdale.

Dick was charming, talented and generous. He will be missed by all who knew him.
