On August 28, 2023, Marila got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was born on Jan. 6, 1944 in a small town of Haiti called Pita, but grew up in I’Acul. She was 1 of the 13 children of Marina St Fleur and Siffrena Charleron. At a young age she helped her parents raise her siblings.She married Santiague Prince and gave birth to 10 beautiful kids and she survived by 8 of them:Navenita, Robert, Gary, Roselor, Santia, Santil, Kettia, Dominique, Natasha, Lindsay and many grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Santiague Prince and two of her children. Marila was a very courageous and smart person, a hard worker, a great mother and an excellent grandmother who sacrificed a lot for her children and grandchildren. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. Marila came to the U.S. in 2002 and lived with her daughter Naveh. She was a beautiful, amazing, strong, funny, smart and kind woman. Marila was always full of life, never a dull moment. She was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others and despite the language barrier she was able to make many friends here.

Dear Mom, you left us weeping but in our hearts the memory lingers sweetly, tender, fond and true. Your smiling face we will see no more, but we will struggle on to meet you, on the celestial shore.
