Obituary For Evelyn Daley

Celebration of Life Service for Evelyn Turner Daley Friday - October 9th 2020 - 12:30 PM In the Chapel Burial - Vista Memorial Gardens

Evelyn Turner Daley was born on August 8, 1932 in Guy’s Hill, St. Catherine. She was the only child for her mother Ethline Osbourne, and the last of three children for her dad Stanley Turner. She loved to read and would read anything that came into view. She was a smart and intelligent child but did not get the opportunity to pursue the career of nursing that she loved, but she became a teacher and taught Sunday School at Wesleyan Mount Church where she was an active member, as well as the community center where she worked. She later moved to Annotto Bay where she met and fell in love with Herbert George Daley. They got married and together they raised five children Errol (Johnny), Maurice (Maxie, Santy), Rudolph (Ruddy, Rudy), Hastings (Ever, Soya), and Winsome (Joy). Our mother, Ms. Turner, Ms. Daley, Evie, MommyD as she was affectionately called, was a warm, compassionate, quiet, industrious, and committed mother. She was a hardworking woman who always went out of her way to help others no matter what. She was a proud, dignified woman who worked hard to care for and provide for her family. Our mother grew up with the traditional values and learned skills such as sewing, cooking, knitting, tatting, and embroidery. She loved life and hold on for as long as she could. We were lucky enough to have her in our lives for 88 years, and we are grateful for every one of those years. She left behind five children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many other relatives. Sleep in Peace MommyD we love you and you will always be in our hearts.
