I am saddened to learn of my Booker T. Washington H.S. classmate of 1967 transition. Essie and I shared many memorable moments together during our school days...classes, school clubs, and our beloved football team. May she rest in eternal and may light perpetual shine upon her. I admired Ms. Essie since I was a teenager, cheerleading with her daughter, DarShaun, my favorite firend in high school. Ms. Essie was a beautiful person inside and out and just a wonderful soul; to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord is what the scripture says, and I whole-heartedly believe, so I know she's in a better place. My condolences to her whole family, and the blessing is I know her legacy of beauty and kindness lives on.
