I, like a lot of other people, have been deeply saddened, at a loss for words and clarity, although extremely appreciative for an precious life in the form of Miss. Emma. While no one wants to see a special person like her endure unnecessary pain and discomfort in this cruel world, the fact that she has passed away has left a "hole" in the hearts of numerous people. Man, was she an AWESOME individual! Especially since "awesome people" are like rare diamonds, you won't find many of them like her around anymore these days. Emma...or "Em" as I often called her, was like a second mother-auntie type of figure to me and other people too. She's someone who everyone respected, loved, admired, trusted, and genuinely appreciated. For me personally, she helped me with sound words of wisdom during the darkest time of my life...when my one and only son was tragically killed in 2012, and when I began to experience serious health challenges of my own soon thereafter. She helped to give me impactful words of encouragement to carry on, and I've never forgotten that. I, like other people, will truly miss meaningful conversations with her (she gave great advice). Her ability to "listen" to a person before offering a thoughtful, appropriate response was a gift. Em was well-versed on many topics from politics and government, how to treat other people and expect the same in return, to staying abreast of health concerns & finding the right physicians, relationship advice, and so much more. However, one vow she certainly never broke was her unwillingness to reveal the FULL details of her delicious, Award-worthy food recipes to anyone..."I'll take them to my grave" as she often told me. And, she did just that. Rest well, Emma. We will all see you again at an appointed time. Until then, thoughts of you will remain in our hearts and minds, and we will fondly remember your great spirit, your one-of-a-kind food recipes, and the wealth of knowledge in the form of "life lessons" you shared with so many people. ~ Santura ("San")
