Obituary For Cyril Gregory Serrao

In Loving Memory of Cyrilito. Cyril Gregory Serrao (Cyrilito) passed away at the age of 67 on May 17, 2021, at Seasons Hospice in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Cyrilito was born on April 12, 1954, to Cyril and Hilda (Sheila) Serrao in Georgetown, British Guyana, South America. Cyril then moved with the family first to El Pao, Venezuela, and then in 1962 to Bethlehem, PA, USA. Cyrilito was preceded in death by his parents Cyril and Sheila Serrao, one brother Phillip and two sisters Margaret and Sherrill. He is survived by one sister; Joan (Gary) Marr of Camp Hill, PA, and three brothers; Dexter (Kathy) of Georgetown, Guyana; Gregory (Vicky) of Bethlehem, PA, and Jim (Maribel) of Long Beach, CA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

From an early age Cyril loved to entertain and after he graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, chased his dreams to Los Angeles, CA. He later spent some time in Hawaii, and ultimately settled in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area where he spent most of his adult life. Cyril loved tanning on the beach and swimming in the ocean, “like a dolphin” he would say. He was always drawn to the ocean and the beach.

Anyone who knew Cyril also knew how he loved to sing and dance. His favorite times were visiting his family and relatives, especially in Canada, dancing and singing the nights away to Calypso, even if he didn’t know all of the words! He would say it was more fun that way. He was so very kind and thoughtful with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews, always remembering birthdays, Christmas, First Communions, graduations and anniversaries.

Cyril has left this world, but his kind and loving heart will remain a beacon of light for all who knew him, like the lighthouse at the ocean’s edge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem, PA, https://newbethanyministries.org/. New Bethany Ministries offers hope and support to people who experience poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
