OBITUARY Carrol Wayne Jones, the youngest child of the late Mr. Ernest and Mrs. Carrie Scott Jones, born on May 29, 1961 in Kingstree, South Carolina, answered the Master’s eternal calling and peacefully ended a full and fruitful life at Florida Medical Center Hospital in Lauderdale Lakes, FL.

‘Wayne,’ as we all knew and loved him, was a 1978 graduate of St. Mark High School in Kingstree, SC. He excelled on the Varsity Basketball team and various other non-athletic activities. After graduation, his work career began at Tupperware Manufacturing Company in Hemingway, SC. In 1980, Wayne married Gloria Chandler of Trio, SC and had one son.

He relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL seeking better opportunities where he became instantly well known and well loved. He worked at Coca Cola Bottling Company in Hollywood, FL for many years, was an active member of New Macedonia Baptist Church in West Park, and a member of FSBL (First Shall Be Last) Motorcycle Club in Hollywood, FL.

Wayne was truly ‘a man of all seasons,’ tall, handsome and a pillar of strength. He was a master on the barbeque grill and in the kitchen.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to build his own trucking company, Mainline Transport. As the CEO, he worked tirelessly until the final weeks of his life. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy Myers Jones and Amos Jones.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory a devoted wife: Dr. Jennifer Louise Jones, Son: Daryl Wayne Jones, Miramar, FL, daughter: Dr. Shante Williams-Marks (Deshawn) Long Island City, NY, Two grandchildren: Brooklyn Nicole & Baylee Noel Marks, New York City, NY. Two sisters: Ellen Marie Smith, Kingstree, SC, Angie Murphy, Charlottesville, VA. Four brothers: Harry Lee Tisdale (Dorothy), Hollywood, FL, Ernest Jones, Jr (Linda), Lauderhill, FL, Herman Jones, Rochester, NY, Mickey Jones (Audrey), West Park, FL. One uncle: Monroe Scott (Adell), Ft. Lauderdale, FL. One Aunt: Odell Scott, Kingstree, SC. Four sisters-n-law: Geraldine Jones, Kingstree, SC, Diane Jones, Kingstree, SC, Tondalaya Nelson, Live Oak, FL, Glenda Zackery, Orlando, FL. One brother-n-law: Armondo Harris, Live Oak, FL. One very special bonus brother: Zeddie Wise of Hollywood, FL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
